Workshop

"Congratulations, you're hired!"

The International Business students taking the Business Communication course this semester had the experience of being interviewed by real industry practitioners as part of the class assessments. I’ve invited five practitioners from different backgrounds to interview the students applying for an internship position. Aprilla Mokalu, Managing Director Umara Group represents F&B industry; Benigna Maria Kurniawan, Director PT. Cava Property represents the property and real estate industry; Andini Effendi, storyteller journalist representing social media communication; Delta Purna Widyangga, CEO & Co-Founder Qiscus, represents the Start-Up industry; and Rachmat Widia, Strategic Digital Planner Manager MD Media, represents Digital Media Communication.

Students were expected to practice the theory and discussion learned in class in preparation for entering the workplace, whether for internship or networking when the opportunity arises. This course teaches students to cultivate soft skills such as interpersonal communication, presenting oneself and proposed ideas, and conducting elevator pitches.

“Great program mock-up interview. I think it will be very useful for the students” – Delta Purna Widyangga

“It was a great learning experience. I learned a lot.” – Taj Mahal (student)

“I think this is such a cool initiative. Every uni should do this.” – Aprilla Mokalu

“It helps the students to be on their toes at all times and to think creatively.” – Rachmat Widia
